I started at an age of 19 at Whites. They were the premier boot company andI was in hopes I could become a bootmaker there.

Looking at the present fashion trend called authenticity,
could you describe how White’s Boots going to be changed and not changed.

Over the next fews years Whites will do its best to stay with versions of the semi Dress. It was a favorite to the professional people such as Drs., Attorneys, and bankers back in 1940.

In Japan I see the fashion brand to continue as it is very original and authentic. Hopefully we can pioneer new products in Japan like the Nomad, and or smokejumper to a higher

Could you describe how White’s Boots is particular about making boots?
Also, which points are White’s Boots not willing to compromise as a boots maker?

ホワイツが特にこだわっている部分、もしくは妥協を許さない部分を教えてください。

The journeymen are all trained to have pride in their workmanship and to never settle for anything less then near perfect quality. Also we will never stop using the best leather insoles, counters and midsoles. We believe the materials are a large part of our success.

職人達はみんな、自分の仕事に誇りを持つように厳しい修行を受けており、完璧な品質を追い求めているので妥協はありません。もちろん、インソール、ヒールカウンター、ミッドソールにもこだわっています。私達の成功の秘訣はそこが大きな理由だと思っています。

I would love to see the Japanese wearing our boots in construction sites all over the country. At this time I feel like White’s haven’t found their way into the physical workforce. Such as construction, ect.

まだ日本ではなじみのないブーツブランドですが、実用性、耐久性もあるホワイツブーツを日本全国の作業現場で履いて欲しいと思っています。

What kind of impression do you feel toward the country Japan?

In a very short time, I have come to respect the work ethic and the honesty of the Japanese people. The detail of their work is impeccable.

日本人のとても真面目に仕事へ取り組む姿勢を尊敬致しますね。非の打ちどころがありませんね。

What is your hobby?

ゲイリーさんの趣味は何ですか？

My hobby’s are hunting, fishing and wood carving. I love to spend time in the country training my two Irish Water Spaniels.

私の趣味はハンティングとフィッシングと木彫り細工です。自然の中で2匹の愛犬アイリッシュウォータースパニエルをトレーニングするのが大好きです。

Boots have been my whole life. Boots, have given me the resources to take care of my family. It has also given me the resources to spend time working on my hobby’s. Boots are my life.
